The HUB Child & Family Centre (The HUB) is accepting applications to their volunteer Board of Directors beginning May 2022.

We are looking for community diversity to enhance the Board’s dynamics. Board membership is open to any person interested in furthering the objectives of the Corporation. You need not have children, have children using any of our programs, or have previous Board experience to become a member.

Time commitment is one meeting per month over 10 months (excluding July & August) and attendance at the Annual General Meeting in June.

Canada-Wide Early Learning and Child Care agreement

March 31, 2022

Dear HUB Parents/Guardians,

We want to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support to screen before attending your child’s HUB programs. Public Heath indicates that screening, staying home if you have symptoms, rapid testing, good hand hygiene, and getting vaccinated, are the most effective ways of slowing down virus transmission. Unfortunately, we need to make you aware that the flexibility funding we were receiving to cover sick days, is no longer available. Effective April 1^st, parent fees will once again be applied to any sick days taken.

We are happy to welcome families back into The HUB Child Care Centre Picton, but some County schools are still not allowing entrance, which can affect The HUB’s other child care centre and programs. Please contact your program Manager for clarification on this.

With regards to the announcement of the Canada-Wide Early Learning and Child Care Plan, and the move towards an average $10 a day model by 2025, for your information The HUB Child & Family Centre has applied to be accepted as a participating agency. Please find attached MP Minister Lecce’s letter that provides information on how the plan will unfold. We do know that a reduction in parent fees, up to 25 percent, will be applied and paid retroactively to you as of April 1^st, 2022 upon the approval of our application. We do not have many details at this time and await further direction that will be provided through our Consolidated Municipal Service Managers. Perhaps we will receive the funds to do this in May and we will ensure quick delivery to you. We would ask for your patience around this as it unfolds and will continue to communicate information to you as soon as we know.
