I have been a child care provider for most of my life, over 40 years and counting. I have seen so many children come and go in this time. When I had a family of my own, I started my own in-home child care business. This way I could be with my children and make an income. 

When I moved to PEC in 2001 I became a provider for Prince Edward Child Care Services, now known as the The HUB Child & Family Centre. Located in Ameliasburgh.

 

I have adopted two wonderful children in addition to my three children and my two stepchildren. My children have mostly since grown up and have had children of their own. Making me a grandmother of 6. Now I get the joy of being with my grandchildren as well by providing child care.

I am a mom of two awesome boys, one in school and a toddler at home. When I thought about my return to work and the lack of child care in the county available. 

What better choice then to work from home with my son and still make an income.

I am located right in Picton and have a small space for children to explore and play with lots of green space within a walking distance. I have all kinds of art activities and sensory play with the children and even have my own art room for myself after hours.

I have been in The County area for 10 years now. I graduated as a PSW in 2011. I worked in a long-term care facility for almost 9 years then moved on to the hospital where I worked in the ICU (intensive care unit). I am a mother of 2 wonderful boys. Riley who is 9, is a loving, caring, sensitive young man that would help anyone who needed it (with my permission). He loves outdoor activities, dancing, using his imagination and helping his little brother Parker. Parker who is 5 has down syndrome. He's healthy, loving, caring and busy. Parker loves playing with others. He is the type of child that sees your emotions and will do his best to make you feel better. I am married to my loving husband Josh whom I have been with for 18 years.

I enjoy building a relationship with the children and understand that each child has their own way of playing and learning. My goal as a caregiver is to help shape the minds of the children in my home with reading, crafts, baking, learning games etc. I am able to adapt to routine and minds to create fun ways to learn depending on the child all while making sure they are happy, laughing and just having fun when they are with me in my home.

I am a child care provider with The HUB Child & Family Centre. I am born and raised in the Quinte area. I have spent over 20 years working in health care as a RPN and PSW. I knew that I needed a change but still enjoyed caring for people. 

Now, I take care for the young instead of the elderly and I love it. This job is everything I have been looking for, working from home, working with people and I get to be my own boss.

I am County born and raised and am a mom of three amazing boys. Two school aged and one at home. Being as he is our last baby, I wanted to stay home with him and really take in these early years. I know how quickly they grow and I didn’t want to feel the guilt that I felt with my first two.

 

During my maternity leave I decided to go through with home child care, as I know The County is in dire need for child care. I’m located right in Picton, within walking distance of a park. We have lots of space for arts and crafts and also outdoor activities.

I worked as a nurse and a nurse educator for the last 9 years in long-term care. I've dreamed of providing a reliable and trustworthy child care space since starting my eldest in home daycare 4 years ago and struggling to find the right option. I love caring for children and thought this would be the perfect fit for my family when we recently moved to Prince Edward County. 

I am proud of the bright and clean space I have created to provide care in my home. A large open space with areas for dramatic play, physical play, creative and sensory play. We spend time outside in the big backyard with many options to play. 

I decided to get licensed with The HUB to have the added support for myself and families I work with, as well as the comfort for both myself and families that I am providing safe and balanced care for.

My husband and I have lived in our home for 7 years now and in that time we have added 3 beautiful children to our family. We have put a ton of effort and thought into creating unique spaces both indoors and outdoors to accommodate the developmentally appropriate playing, learning and exploring of each age and stage. 

I have a degree in Psychology during which I was most interested in Early Development and the principals of learning. I also have a certificate in Autism and Behavioural Science. I was happily employed in that field for 8 years. 

I'm so excited to use all of my current experience and knowledge to offer a quality home childcare option to families and certainly eager to continue my learning of Early Childhood Development. I offer a child-led and play-based environment with plenty of time to learn and explore the outdoors.
