Before and After School Care
The HUB School Age Programs provide a relaxed play based environment where children are welcomed and encouraged to express themselves. There are opportunities for creative expression, science exploration, and teamwork. Snack is also provided at before school and after school to ensure that your children are fed before and after their school day.
The HUB school age program provides opportunities for individual and group activities that promote cooperation, self confidence and skills development:
- Arts and crafts: modelling, paper mache, painting, and sculptures.
- Active play: organized games, individual activities such as dramatic and creative play that encourage gross motor development and cooperation.
- Quiet play: board games, and puzzles.
- Science and Nature: a variety of resource materials expose children to the world around them and satisfies a sense of inquiry.
- We have fun, a place to relax, enjoy your friend’s company, and be a kid!
Each of our school age programs is licensed for children from 3.8 to 12 years and follows the school calendar. Care is available on non-instructional days and school holidays.
PA Day, March Break, & Christmas Break
Not everyone has the day off, so what more fun could you have then hanging with your friends. The HUB PA Day program is a day full of fun and adventure. We encourage learning in all our activities but “shhhh”… the children don’t know they are learning while having fun. We have outdoor activities, crafts, science, learning games and so much more to keep your children happy and active.
Canada Wide Early Learning & Child Care System (CWELCC)
The HUB Child & Family Centre has enrolled in the CWELCC System. Effective January 1, 2023 HUB families will be billed the CWELCC reduced base fee as shown in the following tables.
We believe that child care provides a strong foundation for early childhood development and well-being of children and we are committed to providing child care services that meet the needs of your children and families. Participating in the CWELCC System will help us to continue to provide high quality child care that is accessible, affordable, inclusive and sustainable. Fee reduction through the CWELCC system is for children under six years old. If your child turns six years old between January 1 and June 30 in a calendar year you will continue to receive the reduced base fee rate until June 30. If your child turns six years old between July 1 and December 31, you will continue to receive the reduced base fee rate until the end of your child’s birth month. For example if your child’s birthdate is March 6 – reduced base fees will continue to be charged until June 30 or if your child’s birthdate is Oct 6 – reduced base fees will continue to be charged until October 31st.

Late Pick-up Fee (CWELCC non-base fee)
Families will be charged $5 per child for every 10 minutes after end of program, for late pick-up.
Child Care Fee Subsidy
A family that needs help with the cost of licensed child care for their children (up to 12 years old) and meets the following criteria:
- Each parent/guardian is either employed or enrolled in an educational or training program
- Each parent/guardian has filed their income taxes for the most recent year
- If you or your child has a documented special need and have been referred by a professional, you may also be eligible
